Announcements from Mr. Kemp
Good Evening Cougar Nation, this is Mr. Kemp, Principal of RCHS calling with important information.
On Wednesday September 9th at 6:30 pm, I am hosting a webinar. The purpose of the webinar is to share with you what a day in the life of a Rockingham County High School student will look like on September 21st. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions. The webinar and any questions and answers generated during the webinar will be posted on our school website for later viewing. (Recorded and available)
On September 15th and 16th until 6:00 p.m., parents of students that will start in person instruction will need to come to school to complete paperwork and pick up masks.
Also on September 16th from 3:00-6:00 p.m. 9th graders will have an opportunity to come to campus to see where their classes are. As always thanks for all you do for our students.
Attention 12th graders. Beginning August 2020, students entering the 12th grade will be required to have a booster dose of the meningococcal vaccine (MCV). This new immunization requirement becomes effective for ALL North Carolina 12th grade students. If your child has not already received this dose, please make plans now by contacting your child’s health care provider or the Rockingham County Health Department. Even during this current time of uncertainty, wellness visits and immunizations continue to be recommended. For more information, please contact our lead school nurse and leave a message at 336-342-4726, ext. 51213.

Monday September 21st will be our first day of school for students on the A day schedule. If your child is a car rider, please do not drop them off before 7:45am. All students entering the building on Monday must have a mask. Students will also need a completed Attestation form with them as they come in the building or on file. Attestation forms can be found on our school website. In order to limit the number of students in the hall at one time for school dismissal, car riders will be dismissed at 3:25. Bus assignments and pick up times have been pushed out through CANVAS. We are looking forward to having students in the building Monday. It has been an extremely long time. Thanks for all you do for our students and have a great evening.
